What we collect, why we collect it, and how your documents are handled.

01About this policy

Citecards (“we”, “us”) turns your notes and documents into Anki flashcards. This policy explains what we collect and why.

02What we collect

  • Account: your email address (from Google sign-in or the code we email you). If you use Google, we only receive your email and verified status, not your password.
  • Usage: how many files and cards you generate each day, so we can apply plan limits.
  • Purchases: which plan you bought and when. Payments are handled by our payment partner, Lemon Squeezy, who is the merchant of record. We never see or store your card details.

03Your documents

Files and text you upload are processed to create your cards. The text is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to write the cards. We don't keep your documents in our database, and we don't use them to train models. OpenAI processes them under its own API terms.

04How we use it

To run your account, generate cards, enforce limits, send sign-in codes, provide support and prevent abuse. We don't sell your data and we don't show ads.

05Service providers

Render (hosting), Resend (email), OpenAI (card generation), Google (sign-in), Lemon Squeezy (payments), Cloudflare (domain).

06Cookies and storage

We store a sign-in token and your theme/language choice in your browser's local storage. We don't use advertising cookies.

07Your choices

You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time by emailing caro.uiux@gmail.com.
